Allan Peters recently had the pleasure of designing a custom font for ESPN magazine’s Music Issue. The resulting typeface, which was inspired by the grooves on a vinyl record, is appropriately named Vinyl. The letterforms were used throughout the issue in headlines, initial caps and full page illustrations. “ESPN was a dream to work with,” said Peters. “There were very few revisions, and I was able to complete the project in about two weeks total because of tight deadlines.”
