Everyone knows that direct-response television ads are cheesy and low budget. Into that arena comes the latest from Philadelphia agency Red Tettemer Partners for new client, Arctic Ease (a line of wraps that provide relief from pain and inflammation without ice, frozen gel packs or menthol patches). Enlisting NFL stars Vernon and Vontae Davis, as “doctor””and “professor,” and a walk-through by Arrelious Benn, the spot is a self-effacing look at the cooling technology behind the product line. Incorporating the line “Bag the Ice, Ease the Pain,” the spot launched, along with a redesign of the Arctic Ease website, during the first week of football season. New creative tactics for the brand’s social assets on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube will follow.
