When Austin-based FÖDA Studio was approached to rename a construction company and develop its identity, it used the hands of the crew to drive the concept. The battered hands are the story; they are how jobs get done. In contrast is a custom stencil and a dapper name, Burnish&Plumb. The work-a-day identity is a contrast between two ideas that mirror the distance between the from-scratch nature of the construction process and the actual finished product. From dirty hands come fine finishes. Under damaged boots lie spotless floors. Through weathered tools come burnished fittings.
