On 10 June, the Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson will stage his multi-hour performance An die Musik to inaugurate the renovated home of the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Zurich. The performance will take place as part of Löwenbräukunst preview, during which the entire building will be open to the public for the first time. Accompanied by eight pianists, the tenor Kristján Jóhansson, a group of Icelandic opera singers, and Kjartansson himself will perform Schubert’s song An die Musik (1817) in excessive repetition. The official inauguration will be held on 31 August 2012, with Ragnar Kjartansson’s first solo show in Switzerland.
