UUL is the new name of the Seoul branch of the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea (NMOCA) which is to be open at the end of 2013.It is an acronym of the Korean word “??[wuri]” which refers to “we” and Korean word meaning “fence.” It embodies the concept of the Museum as “our own museum, which is always with us.” It also suggests a new definition and roles of a museum as an open venue encompassing arts and culture instead of a walled-in, closed space.
