Conjuring the seductive majesty of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis and the gritty social narrative of Walker Evans’ photography, acclaimed Brooklyn-based graphic artist Danijel Zezelj joins forces with Grammy-nominated composer Darcy James Argue and his steampunk-jazz big band, Secret Society, to tell a story of extravagance and urban ambition.

The result is a feast for the senses: Zezelj paints live onstage alongside his own projected animation as Secret Society scores the rise of this dystopian city. This is “Brooklyn Babylon.”
