Photographed by Adam Taylor for Leo Burnett Sydney’s “Our oceans aren’t the only ones in danger” campaign, this series of ads highlights the devastating effects that pollution has on ocean wildlife and asks society to rethink the careless disposing of garbage into our seas. Researching images of fatally-injured ocean wildlife trapped in polluted waters resulted in the confrontational creative concept of humans trading places with deceased or trapped ocean wildlife—becoming the victims of trash in our oceans. The campaign consists of a series of three shots, with documentary-style approach that is neither overly composed or heavily retouched; it’s a raw and impactful series that effectively conveys the message that we all suffer when oceans and waterways are polluted. The campaign appeared locally and abroad in surf industry titles.
