In a remarkable coincidence, two iconic 1970s dance works were re-performed in the middle of June. One was from Meredith Monk, who re-imagined her 1973 opera “Education of the Girlchild Revisited” for Dance Theater Workshop’s (DTW) Off-Site series. (Next season DTW begins a new life as the New York Live Arts.)

The second was from Trisha Brown, who was commissioned by The High Line to recreate “Roof Piece” (1971). The new park crosses through the territory the dance Art Headlines
