Christian Boltanski, a leading figure in the international art scene, is representing France at the 54th International Art Exhibition at the Venice Biennial; for the French pavilion, he is featuring a spectacular installation entitled “Chance.” It deals with a theme that is dear to him: luck, bad luck and chance, forces that fascinate us and impose their own laws. As commissioner, the artist has chosen Jean-Hubert Martin, honorary director of the Georges Pompidou Musée National d’Art Moderne.
