One of three business segments of Madison Square Garden (MSG) and home to seven professional sports teams, MSG Media consists of programming networks and interactive offerings including MSG Networks, a regional sports network and Fuse, a national television network dedicated to music. New York’s Poulin Morris was asked to design an environmental graphics program to enhance the interior architecture of their newly renovated corporate offices located in Midtown Manhattan. The cinematic solution connects people with the passion, performance, and perspective of MSG’s offerings and audiences.
The program relies on bright colors, bold headline typography and large-scale photographic imagery of iconic moments in pop culture and MSG Media’s broadcast history. By dividing images into vertical planes with varying scales, an optical experience is created with a series of wall murals that envelop the viewer in memorable moments, ranging from Mark Messier and the Rangers winning the Stanley Cup to the infamous Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier boxing match. Layered, varying-scale typographic quotes from fans, players and news media function as a continuous narrative further commemorating MSG Media’s influence and impact on the public realm.
