When Herman Miller Japan commissioned prolific Delaware-based type foundry House Industries to create this custom block set, art director Andy Cruz rolled all of his favorites into the project: Andy Warhol, Maria Montessori and, of course, the Herman Miller trifecta of Nelson, Eames and Girard. Each set includes eight basswood children’s blocks dressed in House Industries numbers, shapes and patterns with puzzle sides based on the original Herman Miller furniture box used for deliveries. The entire “box” set is packaged in a miniature corrugated shipping carton with appropriately-sized brown kraft packing tape. The House for Herman Miller Japan blocks are available only at the new Herman Miller showroom store in Tokyo, Japan.
