Immediately upon entering BAM’s Harvey Theater for Ibsen’s John Gabriel Borkman, a new production written by Frank McGuinness and directed by James Macdonald, audience members can observe the unique set design. Done by Tom Pye, large snow-like mounds line the outside of the stage and the floor is shiny and black, like ice. A cold, wintery feeling comes across from these set pieces though action will clearly take place inside, evident from the chairs, couch and piano also Art Headlines
