When you are the director of a gallery, you curate from work you love. For Alexandra Corbin, director of the new Gallery Small New York at 416 Van Brunt St., that includes work by her mother.

The gallery’s second exhibition, since its opening on Halloween, will feature work by Madeleine Kraeler Corbin, now 88 years old. The works dates from her “haunting series of desolate imagery,” created in the decade following 1975.
