BWE’s Holiday Open House
The Brooklyn Women’s Exchange (BWE) on Pierrepont Street is known for selling lovely and inspired handmade gifts created by 250 consignment artists from Brooklyn and beyond. The selection includes infant clothing, dolls and stuffed animals, wooden trains, pillows and soaps.
Not everything is made by women — the shop’s name dates back to its founding in 1854 — although the 40-volunteer team that runs the shop does happen to be all women.
