Terry Quinn is a big fan of Nathaniel Hawthorne. He considers his work “the best narration I’ve ever read.”

It started seven years ago when Elizabeth Dabney, an opera soprano and close friend of Quinn’s, approached him with an idea to develop a libretto-an opera-portraying Hester Prynne, a character from Nathaniel Hawthorne’s “The Scarlet Letter.”
