L’Hemispheric is a Planetarium, Laserium and IMAX Cinema all in just one building; it was conceived as a great human eye, open to the world above a 24,000 m2 lake. As the eye that it is, it has a semi-spherical pupil, below which is situated the projection hall, eyelids and eyelashes, which move thanks to a singular work of engineering. The L’Hemisfèric programme changes every season and brings together shows, conferences and three-dimensional IMAX films.
The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía has been conceived as a global arts centre, with a capacity as a venue for opera, dance and open-air concerts. A first rate artistic programme, aiming to offer a global vision that, stemming from and revolving around music, encompasses other artistic and cultural disciplines.
The Arts Centre has a stage of more than 1,500 m2, incorporating the most advanced technology in order to be able to host any operatic, musical and stage show as well as mobile platforms, interchangeable stages and simultaneous translations through the screens in the seats themselves.
