The renowned New York-based Shakespeare theater company Theatre for a New Audience is making their new, permanent home in Brooklyn. Sidling up next to BAM, on Ashland Place between Lafayette Avenue and Fulton Street, the theater will be in good company when they break ground in late 2010 or early 2011, as they hope to do.

The theater’s 27,500 square-foot design by architect Hugh Hardy will include a four-story glass façade, a 299-seat Elizabethan courtyard mainstage, a 50-seat rehearsal studio Art Headlines
